Has a song for peace ever succeeded in discouraging belligerents from entering into conflict? When the worst is yet to come, should we count on artists? Aren't they increasingly given the role of entertaining, that is to say, etymologically, of "diverting", which would not really be doing us any favors when imminent danger looms on the horizon. A specialist in wacky forms and unclassifiable one-man shows, Jérôme Rouger questions in this new creation the place of the artist and, by semantic shift, that of laughter in our societies. Can we take on titanic challenges, real or virtual, with only a vindictive, mischievous and impertinent humor as our weapon?
Why continue to put on shows in the event of imminent danger? How does this danger that seems to be looming invite itself onto the stage without falling into clichés and discouragement? And laughter? Does laughter contribute to changing dominant visions, or does it maintain them? These multiple, dense questions are at the source of this creation. During the show, I thus jointly develop three axes which, little by little, collide, respond to each other, enrich each other.
