Be aware: The Volunteered Slaves' SpaceShipOne will land on January 24, 2025 at the Pieux cultural center for a cosmic concert! Since their creation at the Marciac jazz festival in 2002, The Volunteered Slaves have loved to evolve at altitude. They improvise music above genres and chapels. Jazz, funk or afro, no one knows where they live but they instantly make you want to live there too. Their albums follow one another: Streetwise, Breakfast in Babylone, The Day Aflter or Ripcord. Live, bodies and minds warm up: even the most hushed jazz clubs can transform into a dance floor. With their new critically acclaimed opus SpaceShipOne, they go up another notch: they no longer aim for the sky but for space. The music, always organic, is charged with electro. The poetry is definitely there, between lyricism and trance. Libertarians, the Volunteered Slaves make music that makes us captive. Sharpen your lasers and join them in their "Astronaef".
