Good practices, before getting into the water

  • Check the weather conditions (swell, tide, current, water temperature).
  • Check municipal bylaws.
  • Respect the swimming areas (between the yellow/red flags).
  • Swimming area supervised during opening hours of the first aid station.
  • Pollution or presence of dangerous aquatic species, protected marine and underwater areas (aquatic fauna, reefs, etc.).
  • Aquatic and nautical practice area.
  • Equip yourself appropriately for the conditions (slippers, wetsuit, gloves, hood, etc.) The heat escapes through the extremities.
  • Inform those around you of your entry into and exit from the water.
  • If there is a problem, shout and wave your arms to alert the emergency services.
