LUCIE JAHIER AND LEO ROUSSELET.
In an original circular arrangement, water drops fall onto metal blades from different heights controlled by computer.
The sound of the impact is amplified by judiciously placed microphones. In the center, the flutist's breath passes between the drops. The melodies intertwine, complement each other to make us hear a music that the artist composed and adapted especially to this new instrumentation and its sounds.
Having studied classical writing, baroque counterpoint, jazz, and choro, Lucie Jahier writes lively plural music inspired by, among others, Tigran Hamasyan, Snarky Puppy, Naïssam Jalal and Johann Sebastian Bach.
A magical concert, which splashes magnificently.
