Initially presented at the Jeu de Paume (Paris), this first exhibition in France dedicated to Jean Painlevé takes on a particular resonance in the maritime territory of Cotentin.
An internationally renowned filmmaker, Jean Painlevé made numerous scientific documentaries between 1924 and the 1970s. Known for his films devoted to coastal fauna, he knew how to experiment and use the tools of cinema to study the behavior of these familiar animals and reveal their mysterious aspects.
