After hosting the show Les Hauts Plateaux in Cherbourg, just a few words from the wonderful Mathurin Bolze to make us want to share his journey.
“Trying to probe the thickness of ice, mystery, whiteness. Sharpening our gaze to discern, between fog and dazzle, the silhouettes that seem to move, guess their powers. Imagining what unites them, whether as human beings, as characters or as spirits. Measuring what it takes in desires, blindness, obstinacy to stay in these places… I like the confrontation of the elements and that of the climate. I like the disproportionate scale of time that hides in the depth of an ice core, the disproportionate scale of this space that shelters a handful of humans in an endless white desert… it may be the landscape… this precarious ground with multiple properties, infinitely smooth or chaotic, as hard as ice or a carpet of snow, liquid or fractured…”
