After more than twenty-five years of existence, the most chic and distinguished of British groups has just completed its new album.
Masters in the art of putting spleen to music, Tindersticks always manage to touch the heartstrings with a maddening class and rare elegance, inspired by the silky folk intimacy of Leonard Cohen as well as by the panoramic visions of Ennio Morricone and John Barry, the funereal impulses of Nick Cave. A few scattered guitar notes, refined orchestrations, lightly touched piano keys and above all the ever more sepulchral voice of Stuart Staples are enough to create melancholic masterpieces with hushed and twilight atmospheres, between baroque pop and chiaroscuro rock.
Specialists in inner dives and lyrical flights, Tindersticks are preparing to unveil their fourteenth studio album which will take us on a new unforgettable musical journey.
