"Paysages de la Hague, par les petits-fils de Jean-François Millet " (exposition temporaire) – Maison natale Jean-François Millet
Installed in Barbizon from 1849, Millet rarely returned to Gruchy, “his place”, but sketched the landscapes on each of his trips.
After his stay in Normandy in 1871, he increased the number of works evoking the places of his childhood because he knew he would never see them again. Landscapes then have a testament value for him and become the main subject of his latest compositions.
Charles Heyman and Jean-Charles Millet, grandsons of Jean-François Millet, also drew and painted the Hague from their childhood.
In the graphic art cabinet, through a selection of original works, discover the Hague of the two descendants of Millet.
Closed on Mondays.
