Villes en scène > Drôles d'oiseaux – Ensemble De Caelis et les chanteurs d'oiseaux

SAINT-SAUVEUR-LE-VICOMTE
– Abbey Road
The De Caelis ensemble, five female voices, invites the Bird Singers to a poetic and mischievous joust.

Angels, rare and less rare birds appear throughout this program, where nature and music intertwine. Ancient polyphonies from the 12th to the 16th century, improvisations and spectacular imitations of birds by Jean Boucault and Johnny Rasse, exceptional performers unique in France, intertwine in a joyful dialogue, which gives pride of place to play.

Since the Middle Ages, human song has been considered an imitation of that of birds, itself deriving from an earthly echo of angels. Passionate about medieval music, the De Caelis ensemble, founded in 1998 by Laurence Brisset, evokes this lineage. Virtuoso, poetic and mischievous, this concert celebrates art and nature. The Bird Singers surprise as much as they amaze, so great is their talent in imitating nightingales, curlews and many other feathered species.

A tribute where virtuosity combines with grace.
