The Cotentin Tourist Office is recruiting an employee responsible for development on hiking and roaming, directly attached to the Management.

Missions

You'll have to :

Provide assistance to the project management of the Cotentin urban community for the implementation of the maintenance, development and marking skills of community routes and contribute to the development of hiking and roaming in the destination, in as a practice of discovery of an exceptional territory.

For this you must:

  • Inventory the linear area, identify public and private rights of way, enter into agreements with owners to allow the full exercise of community competence,
  • Identify the work and operations to be carried out, request authorizations, seek financing and subsidies, prepare markets, schedule interventions and monitor the execution of services,
  • Define a global intervention plan through the implementation of a route management plan across Cotentin,
  • Manage projects to promote the development of hiking and the discovery of the territory, in particular the major ongoing project around the resorption of the “black spots” of the GR223 Sentier du Littoral in conjunction with institutional partners,
  • Structuring a range of local itineraries of tourist interest: hiking loops, mountain biking/VTC, adapted to customer expectations, with harmonized, secure and quality circuits for practitioners,
  • Implement or monitor the actions whose implementation is entrusted to the Tourist Office for the development and equipment of trails and natural sites: signage, reception equipment, tourist information or mediation,
  • Ensure, with a network of referents, that the hiking routes in the area (in particular GR 223, GR de Pays and PR) are in good condition (paths, markings, furniture, etc.) as well as discovery equipment; propose and monitor corrective actions,
  • Collect and verify all information relating to routes, write or update textual content and routes for promotional materials: topoguides, websites, etc. as well as on mapping and GIS software,
  • Participate in the development of the region's tourism strategy by providing the structure with your advice and recommendations to improve our visitors' hiking experience and you participate in the development of the action plan for its development.

skills

With higher education BAC+3 to BAC+5, in Tourism or Planning or Local Development or Outdoor Sport, you ideally have a first successful experience of project development linked to the theme of roaming and hiking.
You know the market, the needs and expectations of the different customers likely to practice hiking and roaming, and the services and innovations to offer them.
Autonomous and organized, you know how to work in project mode and in a team, you know how to lead projects collaboratively and with a participatory approach. Diplomatic and endowed with interpersonal skills, you know how to lead a network of actors and enjoy the field.
You have a good knowledge of tourism institutions and local authorities, as well as the regulatory and decision-making environment for outdoor sports. You know the principles of public procurement, as well as the techniques and work for the development, marking and maintenance of hiking trails.
You have good writing, analysis and synthesis skills. You are familiar with IT tools (Office suite) and mapping tools.
