Presentation

An immersive museum about American and German paratroopers, D-Day Experience offers you a double perspective for a complete visit. Located in Saint-Côme-du-Mont, at the dead man's crossroads, a strategic point in the Battle of Carentan, D-Day Experience immerses you in the heart of the fighting.
After a briefing by a hologram inspired by a real American paratrooper, board a C-47 transformed into a flight simulator and relive the night of June 6, 1944 as a paratrooper! Prepare for an eventful flight as bombings rage around you.
Then, through an innovative and grandiose museography, the museum takes you alongside the soldiers who fought for the liberation of Carentan.
Then, the historic house, Dead Man's Corner, and its reconstruction of a command post allow you to discover the German point of view.
Finally, the giant screen 3D cinema summarizes the Landing in an educational way with two films in one: D-Day Normandy 1944 and Taking and Holding Carentan. D-Day Experience offers you a global visit which will allow you to discover in an original way the events of June 6, 1944, as well as the Battle of Carentan.

New for 2024: the 2nd Naval Beach Battalion is highlighted in a new exhibition. Spotlight on this little-known unit, the scouts of the Utah Beach Landings and ancestors of the Navy SEALs. In the spirit of authenticity, each of the pieces on display was used during the Normandy Landings. This unique exhibition allows you to discover and understand the role of the 2nd Naval Beach Battalion and their link with the Utah Beach and Carentan sector.

Don't learn history anymore, live it!
