Wednesday June 15 from 16 p.m. to 20 p.m.

The NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC EXPLORER is undoubtedly the most elegant exploration ship at sea. She is expected in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin on Wednesday June 15, 2022 from 16 p.m. to 20 p.m. for a thematic stopover on the Landing. This stopover will be somewhat special since the passengers will have disembarked in the morning at the port of Caen-Ouistreham and will come to Cherbourg to re-embark aboard the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC EXPLORER in order to end their cruise in England.

This ship was initially launched for the company TFDS (Hurtigruten) as a coastal express along the Norwegian coast, which serves more than thirty ports spread over 2700 km between Bergen and Kirkenes, near the Russian border. It was originally named the MINDSTATOL and was commissioned on November 26, 1982. It is the first ship in a series of three that could only accommodate cargo. In 1988, like her sisterships, she was transformed to accommodate passengers at the shipyards in Bremerhaven, Germany. After several transformations, it took the name NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC EXPLORER in June 2008 after being sold to Lindblad Expeditions. © APPM Association.
