Tomorrow, Wednesday 1^er May will mark the third coming of the year of the impressive ship AIDANova. Belonging to the very identifiable red-mouthed company, AIDA Cruises, the ship and the 5 passengers, mainly of German nationality, will be stopping in our pretty Cotentinois port. Once again, the destination of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin will be the one and only French stopover and penultimate port on this route.

Its next arrival is expected at the end of the year, after the liner season in the Baltics, on Thursday December 12, which, barring unforeseen circumstances, will close the 2024 season of Cherbourg stopovers.

Boat features

THEAIDANova is one of the two largest liners operated by Aida with theAIDACosma, the latter due to be put into service during the 2022 season. This behemoth is the first ship in a class called Helios (or excellence according to the shipowners) and whose units have been distributed across different branches of the Carnival group, namely Aida, P&O Cruises, Costa and Carnival Cruise Lines. These very ecological ships are powered entirely by LNG. Excursions and services offered during the stopover in Cherbourg :

The excursions will target the landing beaches, the Val de Saire, Cap de la Hague, local products from Normandy and Cherbourg on foot, La Cité de la Mer and the Château des Ravalet.

Services offered:
- Information Desk at the Cruise Terminal from 09 a.m. to 00:18 p.m.;
- Presence of a representative from La Cité de la Mer in the morning;
- Cruise Greeters present to guide and accompany passengers;
- Shuttle service will provide from 09:30 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. the connection between the Cruise Terminal and the city center, in collaboration with Cap Cotentin.
