At the entrance to the port of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin this Monday, April 22, the Britannia, liner in the P&O Cruises fleet. Moored from 08:00 a.m. at the Quai de France, its scheduled late departure (at midnight) will give the 3 British passengers, freshly boarded the day before in Southampton and crew members, the opportunity to enjoy their first and only French stopover !

Note that the next arrival of this same ship is scheduled for June 13.

Boat features

Taking the name of the famous British royal yacht (now transformed into a museum in Newcastle), the Britannia was launched by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Southampton on 10 March 2015. She is the only ship in this series to have been awarded to P&O Cruises, with the other ships in this class all sailing for Princess Cruises. On August 27, 2023, while the Britannia stops at Palma de Mallorca, a sudden storm causes the liner's moorings to break, which moves away from the quay and hits the tanker Arteaga Castle, moored not far from there.
