On Monday September 4 and Tuesday September 5, the small and luxurious cruise liner Azamara Pursuit, will be stopping in our port city. For this almost “so Frenchy” stopover itinerary, the port of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin is one of the stops for the ship and its approximately 500 mainly American passengers, who will disembark in Bordeaux a few days later.
Boat features:
Inaugurated on February 16, 2001 for Renaissance Cruises as R EIGHT, this pretty little ship will only remain in the fleet for a few months because it will be decommissioned in September 2001 in Marseille following the bankruptcy of its owner. It was then bought by Swan Hellenic and became the MINERVA II in 2003. Sold in 2006 to Princess Cruises, she is named ROYAL PRINCESS in April 2007, then ADONIA four years later when he transferred to P&O Cruises. He was chosen by the Carnival group to launch a new brand in spring 2016, called FATHOM. It will also be the first American liner to stop in Cuba again. But the success was not there, she returned to the P&O Cruises fleet in June 2017 before her sale, at the beginning of 2018, to Azamara for which she became, in March 2018, theAZAMARA Pursuit. ©APMM Association
