A surprise guest opens the 2024 cruise stopover season and will appear, this Thursday, January 18, at the port of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin! Indeed, the luxurious ship Spirit of Adventure, owned by the Saga Cruises company, and its some 750 British passengers will make an unexpected stop from 09:30 a.m. to 21:00 p.m. at the Quai de France.

This unannounced visit is linked to a change in the itinerary. Thus, two stopovers in the Norman ports of Cherbourg followed by Honfleur are added to this Spanish-Portuguese cruise initially scheduled for passengers. An alternative to, what was to be, a 5-day return trip at sea before disembarking in Portsmouth harbor. The Cotentin will therefore constitute the first additional and French stopover! As a reminder, this ship has not made a stopover since November 19, 2021 at our beautiful destination.

Boat features

Le Spirit of Adventure was delivered to Saga by the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg on September 29, 2020 and initially decommissioned in Tilbury in the United Kingdom due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was then commissioned on June 27, 2021. As the Spirit of Discovery (her sistership), all the cabins of the Spirit of Adventure have private balconies, and the ship also has a significant number of rooms for single people. Cruises aboard Saga liners are only reserved for passengers over 50 years old. © Liners & Merchant Marine Association
