This Sunday, September 8, 2024 the ship Azamara Onwards of the prestigious Azamara Cruises company will make its inaugural stopover in the port of Cherbourg. Moored at the Quai de France from 08:00 to 23:00, near 600 passengers aboard this luxurious ship, will make their third stopover in the French Atlantic ports. The destination of the Cotentin will bring the final Norman touch of the itinerary to this mainly American clientele after having stopped over in the ports of Rouen and Honfleur… An enriching immersion in French culture.

Boat features

A prototype of the Hyperion class, the AIDAPrima was built at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries shipyard in Nagasaki, which delivered the ship at the end of April 2016, one year late. It is the first cruise ship with a hybrid NG/diesel propulsion, but this is not the only technological and ecological innovation it is equipped with. It also has the MALS (Mitsubishi Air Lubrication System) which propels air over a large surface area under the hull, allowing fuel savings of around 7%. © Association Paquebots & Marine Marchande
