Sunday May 21 from 17:30 p.m. to 19:00 p.m.

The luxurious ship THE BELLOT of the French company du Ponant will make a furtive stopover on Sunday May 21 from 17:30 p.m. to 19:00 p.m. in the port of Cotentin.

This type of stopover, also called “Touch & Go”, means a short stopover just long enough for passengers to board or disembark.

The small liner with 5-star service is carrying out an exclusive 10-day itinerary for Tufts University with 125 mostly American passengers on board. This is after an overnight stopover (night at the dock) in the neighboring Normandy port of Caen that all the cruise passengers will disembark on Sunday May 21, in the morning, on an excursion to the D-Day beaches to embark at the end of the afternoon in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin.

This exclusive day will be spent in the company of Professor David Eisenhower, grandson of the famous American President Dwight D. Eisenhower, with a visit to Pointe du Hoc, Sainte-Mère-Eglise and Utah Beach.

The BELLOT is the penultimate ship in the series nicknamed “the explorer class” from Ponant. The hull was produced by the Vard shipyard in Tulcea, Romania, and then towed to Soviknes, Norway, for the ship to be completed. The great particularity of this series of liners is undoubtedly their “Blue Eye” lounge, equipped with underwater portholes, a technical feat which allows passengers to observe the seabed. © APMM
