Theater of his fond childhood memories, Guillaume Garbe acquired the estate in 2012. A place steeped in history, it is coming back to life and getting a new lease of life thanks to the enormous investment of the owner and the unfailing support of the association of Friends of the Château de Carneville.

Guillaume Garbe, your greatest wish is to see the castle enter the 21st century...

The construction of the main building dates from 1755. The Simon de Carneville family brought the castle into the 1927th century. In XNUMX, Count René de Tocqueville became the new owner and allowed the remarkable ensemble to fit into the XNUMXth century. I would like the efforts of all those who invest alongside me to be rewarded and offer this place the possibility of establishing itself sustainably in the XNUMXst century and beyond...

The previous owners had a strong relationship with the natural elements. The visit teaches us, for example, how the position of the sun plays an important role in architectural design. You yourself would like to take part in a 100% environmentally friendly renovation process…

We are at the heart of a high-quality fauna and flora area. It is our duty to ensure that everything that is and will be undertaken here meets ecological issues. When we organize events likely to bring together the public, we aim for the 100% plant waste objective. We want to make this place an indisputable heritage, cultural and environmental landmark.

The Association of Friends of the Château de Carneville plays an essential role in the success of your project, can you tell us more?

I am lucky to be surrounded by loyal friends of the castle who are keen to see the dream come true. The volunteers are there whenever it is necessary to maintain the gardens, create activities, organize meals or evenings such as “aperitifs at the castle” on Friday evenings from April. We are all driven by the same passion for heritage.
