Initiated by the CCI du Var and followed by the Var Provence Cruise Club (VPCC) in 2013, this certification Cruise Friendly » (translate Cruise Friends) is allocated to local tourism providers and traders.

The goal is to create a network and enrich the experience on land by offering a quality welcome that meets the expectations of cruise lines, their passengers and their crew members !

Concretely, by adhering free of charge to the Cruise Friendly charter, establishments undertake, for example, to adapt their opening hours, to provide a personalized welcome to cruise passengers, to raise awareness among their staff of this clientele and to offer a commercial gesture. In return, they benefit from better visibility of their establishment and their offer to this clientele thanks to multiple communication media: website, application, plans and leaflets.

This approach already extends to more than 14 destinations such as Bandol, Toulon, Sète, Saint-Raphaël but also Martinique and Yokohama and now in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin! Cruise lines represent an important economic activity, hence the interest in offering a tool adapted to enable them to consume “Cherbourgeois”.
