It is also an opportunity to discover two temporary exhibitions:

  • « Gustave Bazire, photographer (1893-1941): detours in Cotentin »

Gustave Bazire is a Cherbourg photographer from the interwar period. Throughout his life, in love with the Cotentin, he photographed Cherbourg with its inhabitants, but also all the surrounding towns, from the Hague to the Val de Saire via the Valognese bocage, the ports and sea or countryside landscapes. 100 years ago, without knowing it, through detours with his photographic camera, Gustave Bazire was already sketching a map of the great Cotentin of today.

Thanks to the Manche Departmental Archives which digitized nearly a thousand of these images on glass plates, the 3Angles association selected several hundred to present them in large format in an exhibition spread across eight locations in the region.

  • « Harbors and small archipelagos of the English Channel», by Sylvestre Dupré. It is only when we see them from the sky that the islands and harbors of the Channel reveal, with the tides, their splendid landscapes, full of unexpected colors and astonishing graphics. The author's photographs, many of which are completely new, endeavor to highlight the wild character of the places, but also the magnificent figures that the shellfish farming installations draw on the foreshore, while praising a nature that we must continue to preserve.

La Côtis-Capel media library will be open for visitors looking for culture and escape, they will be able to consult books on local history, cooking, gardening, decoration, comics, novels. It has a space reserved especially for children.
