Internship offer
We are looking for an intern to participate in the development of trail and gravel practice centers in the Cotentin.
4 to 6 month internship

Context
The Cotentin territory is leading a process of developing hiking (hiking, cycling, equestrian). A diagnosis was carried out on the practices and expectations of the territory. This diagnosis made it possible to develop a strategy as a response to the ambitions of the destination. An action program to be carried out between now and 2026 was then developed.
The establishment of practice centers was identified as necessary to structure the Cotentin, simplify the use of practitioners, visitors and locals, and better manage flows. The choice was made to first work on the themes of Trail and Gravel, already well established in the region and making progress. There is already a Trail Challenge in Cotentin (4 events) that the Cotentin Tourist Office supports, or even a trail festival “The trail makes its cinema”, and dynamic associations exist.
The Cotentin Tourist Office has decided to be supported in its approach by a company specializing in the subject of Trail and Gravel Stations. The objective is to see the creation of practice centers in 2024. To support those responsible for hiking development and society, an internship is offered by the Cotentin Tourist Office to participate in the development of Trail and Gravel practice centers.
Missions
In conjunction with the hiking development managers of the Cotentin Tourist Office, the intern will participate in the smooth running of the following missions:

- Ensure a distribution of poles across the territory,
- Identify the Trail and Gravel clubs, associations and events present,
- Take into account local municipal wishes and seek links with regional projects (as part of Small Towns of Tomorrow, etc.)
Participation in the creation of a network of practical stakeholders for local consultation:

- Go meet event organizers and be present at some of them,
- Make contact with potential stakeholders around the practices (stores, socio-professionals, etc.),
- Identify and contact the institutional services concerned (Cotentin, municipalities, state services, Attitude Manche, Coastal Conservatory, etc.) for project coherence and integration into local policies and dynamics,
- Identify expected authorization requests (installation of signage, passages, etc.)
Creation of a master plan for the centers and routes:
- Research and compile interesting route traces (applications, events, suggestions from practitioners, etc.),
- Check land control to identify the necessary passage agreements,
- Carry out the necessary field surveys to ensure secure and continuous practices,
- Identify points of interest to be promoted,
- Identify and recommend the services to be deployed around the centers and routes (luggage lockers, showers, toilets, water points, bicycle rentals, etc.) and identify suitable project leaders.
Deployment of the master plan:
- Identify the chosen routes,
- Create staking plans to identify needs for markers/signage,
- Request the necessary authorizations.
