Château de Tocqueville

Home of Alexis de Tocqueville, author of “Democracy in America” who is buried in the village cemetery. Old 16th century manor house enlarged with an 18th century dwelling and a 19th century square pavilion, reflecting on the pond designed by Mary Motley, the wife of Alexis de Tocqueville.
