Overview
The “Blankenese” battery of Néville-sur-Mer is located northeast of the tip of Cotentin.
This battery belonged to the Kriegsmarine and was equipped with 4 British Vickers 94 mm M/39 anti-aircraft guns in Casemates type 1xM271 2xM158 1xSK.
It was scuttled on the morning of June 18, 1944 by the sailors who occupied it in application of the “Henrich” plan, launched the same day and which ordered the withdrawal towards the “Festung” Cherbourg.
