Presentation

The Brulay Battery or "Seeadler" is located 7km east of Cherbourg harbor, in the town of Fermanville.
Built in 1936, it was recovered by the German army under occupation and was integrated into the Atlantic Wall.
Made up of an observation post and a fire control post on three levels, it is equipped with 4 194 millimeter cannons, model 1902, in tanks on mounts.
It was to counter any naval attack and ensure the defense of Maupertus aerodrome.

Decommissioned in the 90s, it is today an artistic medium for amateurs or experienced graffiti artists.

The “Les Landes” walk (available on Cirkwi), 7 km, takes you to the heights of Fermanville and the Brulay battery, revealing a breathtaking landscape.
