Presentation

A last refuge for Jacques Prévert
Born in 1900, Jacques Prévert bought the Maison du Val in 1970 on the advice of his friend Alexandre Trauner, film decorator, to whom he entrusted the layout. Appreciating the calm of this end of the world, he continued to write and create collages until his death in 1977. The two artists are buried today in the Omonville-la-Petite cemetery.
The house and its garden have kept the mark of its owner. The collection of original works illustrates the astonishing career of Jacques Prévert. A film allows you to discover the key moments in the life of this multidisciplinary artist.
Leaving the house, you can take a small bocage path to reach the village church. The cemetery houses the graves of the two accomplices, Jacques Prévert and Alexandre Trauner.
