Presentation
Built in 1962, on the very spot where American troops landed on June 6, 1944, the D-Day Museum recounts in 10 sequences the events of D-Day, from its preparation to its outcome and success. Thanks to a complete chronological tour you immerse yourself in the history of the landing and discover a collection rich in objects, vehicles and equipment. Star of the Museum, an authentic American B-26 Marauder bomber is exhibited in a hangar specially designed for it. The film, “La Plage de la Victoire” brings you back to life the epic tale of the soldiers engaged in this decisive battle, the largest amphibious operation in all of military history. With the moving testimonies of veterans, you will appreciate the extent of their sacrifice which gave Europe its freedom.
