Professional photographer, geologist and author of numerous works, Arnaud Guérin defines himself above all as a Norman traveler.
On the occasion of the highest tides of the year, he invites you to the Cotentin peninsula to discover all its beauty by photographing the most fascinating lighthouses.
Beaten by the waves or perched on a rocky cape, these coastal sentinels will be the subject of an exceptional photographic journey, in the heart of the wild and captivating landscapes of the Normandy peninsula.
Much more than a stay dedicated to photography, it offers you a real journey, whether you are a seasoned photographer or simply a nature lover.

Program
Stage 1: March 29 – The coast of the Isles
Morning: arrival at the hotel for welcome coffee. We will take the opportunity to take stock of your equipment before heading to the Port-Bail lighthouse, the most original in the Cotentin since it is in a bell tower… Discovery of the harbor of Portbail, photographed at the mercy of the falling tide.
Local picnic.
Afternoon : By carpooling, we set off for the largest massif of perched dunes in Europe, a territory with an air of Patagonia, before visiting the Carteret lighthouse located on the heights of the cape, facing the Channel Islands.
Knowing the lighthouse like the back of her hand, Adeline will welcome us on site. On the program, photos indoors and then outdoors, before a magical and awaited moment: the lighting of the lighthouse at sunset.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Step 2: March 30 –
Morning: Head to the East coast to capture the second highest lighthouse on the coasts of France: Gatteville. During the Equinox tides, the lighthouse becomes an island and the surf can be impressive. After these new shots, we head slightly south to discover Barfleur, its lighthouses and lighthouse house before enjoying a local picnic.
Afternoon : For more than three centuries, Vauban's fortifications have dominated the bay of Saint Vaast la Hougue. At low tide, the foreshore reveals to our great delight the oyster beds that border Tatihou Island, located just 800 meters from the port. We will have the opportunity to enjoy superb views.
In the evening, after dinner, those who wish can once again take photos of the Carteret lighthouse beam, in a timeless atmosphere.
Step 3: March 31, 2025
Morning: It is with a coefficient of 114 that we discover Goury, the lighthouse guiding boats on the very dangerous waters of La Hague.
Marking the Alderney Race, the most powerful tidal current on the coasts of France, the lighthouse is built on “le gros du Raz”, a rock offshore.
We will take advantage of the “reverse”, the inversion of the current, for a great moment of wonder, when the Raz is at its most spectacular.

On this day dedicated to the legendary Pointe de la Hague, our salty journey ends with a surprise that will leave an imprint on everyone's minds and goals...
