Ephemeral ARTISTS VILLAGE
Every year, at the end of June or the beginning of July, for a day, Fermanville takes on the features of an artists' village.
When you discover the village for the first time... it's as if, by magic, you were transported to another world. The adorable residents prepare and open their gardens to the ever-increasing number of artists and visitors.
What makes Campagn'Art special is the configuration of the place with traditional style houses, the warmth of the welcoming people and the discovery of artists who are renewed every year. All in a bucolic universe!
Campagn'Art is an ephemeral Artists' village bringing together 3 hamlets of Fermanville nested within each other: Haut de Fermanville, the Carré hamlet and Judea.
These hamlets were chosen because of their ideal configuration which allows the development of places and activities.
Every year, in June, the village gardens open wide to artists, craftsmen, Sunday handymen, and all the art enthusiasts who invest them and exhibit their creations, make contacts, sell pieces…
The gardens open to the public can be identified thanks to small signs which bear the name given for the occasion: “the exotic garden”, “the secret garden”… they then offer visitors, in the particular atmosphere of each open garden, sculptures, paintings, music, theater, clothing, jewelry, crafts of all kinds...
Painters, photographers, sculptors, musicians…take possession of the premises on the grass, in the courtyards, under the apple trees or arbors, for a day. While families, curious people or regulars wander the streets and gardens filled with thousands of works of art and flowers which intoxicate with their delicate scent.
Hundreds of artists from different fields come each year. The exchange is then omnipresent, with the inhabitants, with the artists and to create rich and motivating encounters for an unforgettable day.
There are no cars on site, they park in a field, out of the way. A walking tour is offered but everyone can wander as they wish.
Always more attentive to its audience and art enthusiasts, this event has only one goal: to improve each year to offer everyone the best in the artistic world.
